Submit a foundational project management-focused project for the PACE team to review. If approved, your project will be matched with up to 5 participants, contributing a combined total of up to 100 hours of meaningful, real-world work.
Projects will begin on October 15, 2025 and must be completed over a 4-week period by November 15, 2025.
This experience is designed for students new to project management who are aiming to develop essential skills in defining projects, understanding the project lifecycle, and supporting project delivery using predictive project management approaches.
Learner Goals and Capabilities
Learners will:
- Understand project definitions, environments, and the role of a project manager in driving success.
- Apply the five phases of project management (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing) through practical tasks.
- Develop and maintain basic project artifacts (e.g., charters, schedules, change logs, and closure documents).
- Support communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation for small-scale projects.
- Recognize and apply basic project risk identification and issue management techniques.
- Build confidence in using entry-level project management tools (MS Project, Excel, Trello, Asana).

Expected Outcomes and Deliverables
Students will deliver basic project documentation aligned with introductory project management practices, such as:
- Project charters defining objectives, scope, and stakeholders.
- Timelines, simple Gantt charts, or planning documents.
- Status reports, change control logs, or progress tracking tools.
- Closing summaries that evaluate project activities and outcomes.
Projects must be well-scoped and designed to provide foundational project management experience for learners who are preparing for entry-level project roles.
